Brief: Design a bespoke cushioned bay window seat with storage.

 

Sonnaz a local upholsterer who features on BBC’s The Repair Shop, approached me to design the wooden element of a bay seating area. The front paneling reflects the style of the houses interior doors. 

 

This room has underfloor heating right up to and including the Bay Area, so we needed to account for ventilation and air flow  underneath the piece of fixed furniture. Sonnaz’s client also requested there to be storage within the seating. 

 

I created a 3D video of the design showing all aspect of how the bespoke furniture would look and function. After customer approval, I produced a comprehensive joinery drawing for the clients carpenter to build the piece.
